Glen Chin is a thirty-year veteran of stage and screen. The Golden Horse nominated, Chinese American actor has been blessed with working with directors like Stephen Speilberg, Oliver Stone, Tsui Hark and Jackie Chan in over 50 film projects. In theatre, he has directed over twenty original productions such as “Heading East”, “Manzanar” and “Paper Son”, to standards including “Little Shop of Horrors”, “West Side Story” and “The King and I”.
As an instructor, he received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of the Pacific and is a California State Credentialed teacher with experience in primary, secondary and college levels. In 1977 he was invited to teach Musical Theatre at the august East West Players. At East West Players, he was head of the education department and has taught Improv/ Comedy, Acting and Musical Theatre. He was also director of Total Theatre Ensemble, which toured to school children throughout Los Angeles County. In addition, Glen taught acting at East Los Angeles College for six years.
In 1982 he studied Improv / Comedy with Paul Sills, and became a member of Sills and Company, for three years. He continues his love for the subject with membership in Cold Tofu.
In Hong Kong he has taught acting classes at 3AMI, The Hong Kong International Film Academy and Improv / Comedy at Take Out Comedy Club.
His mentors include, Darryl Hickman, Charles Nelson Reilly, Mako, and Paul Sills.
